ANNUAL MEETINGS. THE REMUESA CLUB. TWO LIFE MEMBERS ELECTED. The annual meeting of tho Remuera Bowling Club was hold on Monday evening when the balance-sheet for the past year disclosed a satisfactory state of finances. The annual report of the executive referred to the various activities of the club during (he past year, special mention being made of tln> success of Messrs. Stuhbs, Coote. Colegrove and Whitmore, who won tile first years players competition in the centre's Kaster tournament. Prizes won during the season were presented by the retiring president. Mr. F. M. Short. Pople; auditor, Mr. T. S. Bassett. It was decided to enter a reduced quota of 12 rinks in the Auckland Centre's pennant competition. In recognition of many years of service Mr. .T. E. Cowell was unanimously elected a life member of the club. The report stated that careful management l>y the officers and committee was reflected in increased revenue, reduced expenditure and the maintenance of firstclass playing greens. In addition to the usual club competitions 15 open rink tournaments were held during the past year and all proved highly successful. Frank Livingstone won tlie singles championship of the Dominion at C'hristchureh last January, this honour being achieved for the lirst time by a member of the Oneliunga Club. .■.lt was regretted to record the death of Messrs. A. Brown, C. H. Skinner, F. Walsh and A. Moore. The financial statement showed a credit of £.'JS. Assets were valued at £2701, being £IS4O in excess of the liabilities. MOUNT ALBERT CLUB. There was an excellent attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Mount Albert Bowling Club held on Monduy evening, the president, Dr. J. S. Paterson, occupying the chair. The secretary's report and treasurer's statement revealed that substantial progress had been made during tlie past season, the successful conclusion being in a large measure due to the active co-operation of the ladies' committee, to whom a special vote of thanks was tendered. A tribute to the successful work of tho president, officers and committees was evidenced by their being re-elected for the ensuing year. It was reported that the greens were coming on well, and a considerably increased membership was 'anticipated.' It was decided to enter 14 teams for the pennant competition. Brown presiding over a large attendance of members. The outgoing committee was congratulated oh its effort in reducing the bank overdraft of the club by some £60 during the year. A motion was passed recording the appreciation of the valuable assistance rendered by the croquet ladies during the season. It was decided to enter ten teams In the Auckland Centre's pennant competitions and to hold the same club competitions as last season, reverting to section play instead of the life system.
