The total number of subscribers a borrowers to the lending of the central library and Drancn libraries was 10.9%. Of the number, 3021 were children of city ratepayers and residents of the city, those^f free borrowing privileges. Subscribers (adult and juvenile) were _ 7975. Ui those 5735, or 72 per cent resided within the city boundaries and 2240, or 28 p cent, lived elsewhere. . . . „ Over the whole library service, the places which took fullest advantage of the city library system were those whose boundaries were contiguous with the city. Mouiit Eden subscribers numbered 000, Mount Albert 380, and One Tree Hill 358. Of the remaining, districts close to the city, Takapuna, with 128 subscribers, Devonport, with 109, ami Birkenhead'and Nor.thcote eohibine<l, with 101 subscribers, made the beet use 1 of the city library system.
