WAITEMATA GARDENS.
HELP FOR NEW SOCIETY. A bridge evening, in aid of the.npwly formed Waiteinata Horticultural Society, was held last night in. the Returned Soldiers' Clubroo.n at yprthcote. The room was tastefully decorated with foliage and seasonable blooms, and blazing ]og fires lent,.a cherry atmosphere. ° The organisers were Mesdames R. F. Featherstone, J. L. Hanna, H. N. Leefe (Northcote). J. Prickett, F. G.' Blackwell and C. M. Burton (Birkenhead). The gathering was welcomed by the president, Mr. J. L. Hanna and Mrs. Hanna. - The prize winners were: Bridge, .Mrs. A. W, Smith and MivF. G. Blackwell, and hidden number,' Mrs. ,T. L. Hanna and Mr, E. J. Mullon; and 500, Mrs. D. P. O'Leary. Among those present were:—Mesdames D. P. O'Leary, M. S. James, V. P.
