JOSEPH CONRAD.
CONCERN IN ENGLAND. SHIPS ASKED TO REPORT. I The steamer Antiope, which arrived yesterday from Bunburv, West Australia, reports that she picked up oil the trip across the Tasman the following wireless broadcast from Rugby, England: "To all ships in the Pacific, —Any vessels sighting the yacht Joseph Conrad please radio to Lloyd's, London, the yacht's position and where elie is bound for." i It is evident that tlie recent reports of the ship Joseph Conrad haying been sighted passing through Cook Strait 011 May 21, and later seen off 1 the East Coast, where wreckage has also been reported, has caused some concern in England for her safety. It has been proved that the wreckage washed ashore near Porangahau, 011 the east coast of the North Island, is definitely not from the Joseph Conrad. It is possible that H.M.S. Dunedin, which left this afternoon on a cruise to the South Pacific, and will make a call at the Kermadecs, may obtain some news of the Joseph Conrad, as it was the intention of her skipper, Mr. A. J. Villiers, to call at this island 011 his way to Tahiti.
