Mrs. Marshal Fabyan .(United States) (nee Miss Sarah lalfrej), 6 3, q 4 Mrs. Fabyan beat Miss Stammers, 6—3, 6—4. Miss Round beat Miss Jacobs, 6—A, 6—3. Miss (,'aroliii Babcock (United States) beat Miss Hardwick (Britain), (j J 4 6 6—2. "• —. In the doubles, Miss" Cafolin- Babcock and Mrs. J, Van Ryn (United States) beat Misses E. TVI. N._M. She did not reproduce her previous brilliance, especially against Mrs. Fabyan. Also sue was very erratic in the doubles when she lost her serviefe at 4—4. Miss Jacobs, after two defeats, rallied magnificently in the doubles.
