KAIPARA HOSPITAL.
THE BUILDING PROGRAMME, (By Telefrrnph—Own Correspondent:.) DARG AVI LLE, Friday. A letter from the Department of Health, stating that it was prepared to recommend to the Minister that the agreement with tho friendly societies should bo extended for a further two years, was received at a meeting of the Kaipara Hospital Board to-day. The secretary, Mr. W. A. Haden, said the Department recommended a new contract, but this would not affect the terms of the agreement.
The chairman, Mr. P. B. Walden, said it was time the board considered the building programme recommended by the recent conference of contributing local bodies.
The medical superintendent, Dr. .T. A. Marshall, said lie did not think the Department would approve of a temporary building.
Mr. W. Collins said he considered that if the proposals as put forward by the conference were submitted -to the Department there would not be any difficulty.
It was decided that the house committee should meet to deal with the question of immediate accommodation at Te Kopuru and the proposed expenditure for the next five years, and report to a special meeting. It was decided lilso to notify the Department of the conference's recommendations, and that they wcro being considered by the board.
