CHRISTCHURCH MARKET ACTIVE

CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The markets were again active on call this morning, with some big parcels of Government stock changing hands. Among the banks, Commercials dropped a penny, but finished with buyers at IJ/and sellers at 19/3 E S and A. a; looked better, and New Zealands (ex div J had sellers at £2 5/2, with no buyers. . National Insurances confirmed then recent firming with business at 18/ d, the market closing at Id on either side. Goldsbrough, Morts again eased, and after business at a drop of 2d quotations lay from £1 11/9 to £1 11/11. New Zealand Refrigerating Company shares (tully paids), in the first local business since April, wore active at 19/10 and 19/11, with further sellers at £1. , , . ... Strong buying offers marked Australian miscellaneous issues, though little interest was taken in New Zealand issues. Pipes (Australian) were active at £1 0/9 and £1 0/7. Consolidated Bricks eased sharply to sellers at 10/2. Mount Morgans continued to advance m the mining section.
