VENUE OF ROYAL SHOWS
HAWKE'S bay opinion. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, Friday. The opinion that the Royal A. and P. Society has not the power to adopt the Canterbury suggestion to fix only two permanent venues for the Royal Show, aiid in any case would not be willing to do so, was expressed by speakers at a meeting of the Hawke s Bay A. and P. Society. Mr. J. H. MacNiven, the chairman, said the suggestion came from Christchurch only, and he did not think it would get any further." In his opinion the Royal Society itself would not atn-ee. When Royal Shows were started they were meant to go round, and if the system were altered it would mean the end of the Royal Society. Ilia change must come from the .Royal Society, which, he believed, would not dare-to'adopt it.
