MISHAP TO S.S. KENT.
ASSISTANCE NOT NEEDED. (From Our Own Correspondent.) SUVA, June 8. The Federal Company's steamer Kent, which brought a big cargo from London to Suva, sailed from this port on Thursday morning. The vessel was noticed to stop when not far from the dangerous Benga reef, some 25 to 30 miles from Suva. As she showed no signs of moving it was feared she had gone ashore on a reef, and her agents sent the steamer Malake to investigate. The Malake had only gone a mile or so outside, however, when she received a wireless message stating that the Kent had had engine trouble but that it had been rectified.
