MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Talisman Dulibo. — Report for period ending May 30; Dubbo level—The rise at 440 ft north was put up 19ft, total 119 ft above the level. The reef is Din wide of good assay value. An intermediate level was started at 100 ft up and advanced 22ft north and 12ft south of the rise. Average width Tin. value fair. Sloping—Ore broken !n the slopes from 245 to SSOft north, 100 ft above the level, 21in wide, of very good value. In tlie stopes from 630 to OSOft north, assays averaged fair for width of 11Jn. Talisman No. 1 level, stoping— Ore broken in the stopes from the main rise to ■10ft south, 70ft above the level. 9in, of very good value. Preparations for sinking a winze 1101't south of the main rise are in hand. This winze will connect with (he drive south on No. 2 level. Talisman No. 2 level—The drive south advanced 2-lft, total 725 ft. Assays from 700 to 723 ft south showed good values for .an average width of lOin. The reef at 723 ft south is 22in wide, clean quartz, together with another ISin of lode formation consisting of quartz, gravel and clay. Timbering is necessary as the drive advances.
Mataki.— Under dale the Otli instant, the drodgemaster reports as follows : "During the week ended 7th instant, the dredge worked 138 hours on n face of 500 ft with an average depth oL' lCAi't, pulling ahead 85ft, treating 10,094 yards, for a return of 15oii 9(1 wt. :igr. The river portion of the cut continues to improve, although on tiie inside the water is still shallow and we are lifting three lo four feet of pug over approximately 150 ft. The dredge is working well and there are no mechanical defects.
