Reckoning national wealth as "the sum total of our physical assets, including "all farms, factories, equipment, merchandise in stock and the thousand and one material things which Canada as a nation possesses.'" but excluding stocks, bonds and mortgages, the Dominion Bureau of Statistics puts a price of about £5,150.000,000 upon, the Dominion of Canada. The figure does not include "the immense potential wealth in forests, mines, etc., the present value of which it is impossible to estima i. This tabulation is made only each four years, and the present figures aie based on values in 1033. As compared with the next preceding total made in 1020, at the height of prerdepression values, there is a decline of seventeen per cent, but there is no doubt that a survey taken to-day could register a considerable advance from the 1933 figures. Each individual Canadian's share of this national wealth in 1920 was £050. Four years later the average was about £500.

Agricultural wealth makes up 21.59 per cent of the total. Mines are 3 per cent and forests 8. The manufacturing industry accounts for about 0 per cent: steam railways, 13; urban real property, 2G; household furnishings and clothing, 3.54; smaller items the remainder. Ontario leads the nine provinces, with 34 per cent of the total, and Quebec is second with 20 per cent.
