! MANUAL TRAINING SCHOOL ACQUISITION TO DISTRICT. (By Telogrnpli.—Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, this clay. The Opotiki Manual Training School, which was erected at a cost of £2500, was opened yesterday by Mr. A. G. Hultquist, M.P. The chairman. Mr. A. E. Payne, expressed gratification with the large attendance of citizens and said the new school was probably the finest of its kind in the Auckland province. The initiation of the movement for the school started 15 years ago, and its acquisition' topped off a fine educational achievement. The Mayor, Mr. G. S. Moody, said the institution was a credit to Opotiki. lie emphasised the importance of good health and good education, and congratulated the chairman of the committee on the success achieved. Mr. Hultquist read a letter from the Minister of Education, who stated that he would visit Opotiki as soon as passible. The Hon. A. Burns, M.L.C.. former chairman of the Auckland Education Board, and Mr. Macky spoke. Mr. Hultquist then opened the doors and declared the building open.
