Similar hours conditions apply to hotel restaurant employees as to shop assistants. A half day from 1 p.m. on one day of the week, and a six-day working week is provided for. The maximum overtime for the year is restricted to 120 hours with a minimum overtime rate of 1/0 an hour. Boys under 18 years of age may not be employed in a restaurant after 10.30 p.m.

Special exemptions as to hours of closing are made in a number of cases where it Js necessary for the public to be dealt with in the evening. A special section provides for overtime worked in banks for special purposes. Overtime for any such time worked is to be paid. Minimum overtime rates for office assistants is fixed at 1/0 an hour, and meal allowance of 1/0 must be paid 011 any day 011 which overtime is worked.

An over-riding clause is added to both the Factories' and the Shops and Offices Act.
