PHEASANT SHOT.
* SPORTSMAN TO PAY FINE. The statement made by Robert William Steele that while shooting sparrows at Xorthcote on April 4 he had shot a rooster by accident was not accepted by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.. at the Police Court this morning. Steele was prosecuted by the Acclinmtisation Society and charged with shooting a pheasant. Mr. Hunt convicted accused and fined him £5.
