AERO CLUB BALL.

UNIQUE DECORATIONS.

GAY SCENES AT PETER PAN.

Hundreds of miniature scarlet aeroplanes, their tinsel wings glistening in the brilliantly lit cabaret, helped to create an atmosphere appropriate to the occasion when the Auckland Aero Club held their ninth animal ball in the Peter Pan last night. The whole scheme of decoration was outstanding and reflected much credit 011 the hard-working committee whose efforts were rewarded by the admiring comments of the many guests who attended. The colours of the club were to be seen in tall clumps of flax leaves, which had been painted in maroon, sky blue and navy. These were placed in each corner of the dance floor and banked around the central pillars. Festoons of asparagus fern were looped around the sides of the floor and from this setting the glistening little aeroplanes were arranged so that they appeared to be swooping down, gliding, and flying in formation. These aeroplanes, which were the work of Mr. F. C. Macdonald, captain of the Glider Club, and Mrs. Macdonald, were presented later in the evening to the guests as souvenirs of the delightful occasion. Masses of greenery and flowers transformed the supper room. In the corners were masses of h} 7 drangeas painted in maroon, green and gold, with golden flax leaves. On the tables were slim vases containing sprays of gilded smilax and bowls of Iceland' poppies sprayed with gold. Linking the vases were wide strands of bright green ribbon. The work of decorating the ballroom was organised' by Miss Anita Webster, while Mrs. J. J. Sullivan was responsible for the dais decorations. The supper room was under the convenership of Mrs.
