PRESS LIBEL LAWS.
NEED FOR EMPIRE ACTION. (Received 11 a.m.) . LONDON, June 9. The Empire Press Conference devoted this afternoon to the censorship debate following an admirable address by Mr. Kenneth Anderson, Associated Newspapers legal expert, in which he outlined a bill designed to place libel on the same basis as slander and limiting the scope of the "gold digger."
The conference passed a resolution urging Britain and the Dominions to legislate on the matter on as nearly identical lines as possible.
