U the meeting of the junior committee of the Auckland Rugby League laat evening, Mr. 1). Wilkie presiding, Mr. W. E. Kane replaced Mr. J. Lawrence a» Green Lane delegate and received a welcome. The Northcote and Birkenhead Ramblers' Club, in urging that a senior fixture should be staged at .Northcote, stated that the proceeds would benefit the R S.A. in the district. The application was referred to the Control Board. The Richmond Rovers' Club sought a ruling on the fifth grade match agains* Otahuhu, which finished at 3.14 p.m. (when Richmond led 6—2), and considered contrary to tile rule requiring early games to terminate• at 3 p.m. The matter was referred to the Referees' Association for
report. A Ngaruawahia application to have its junior team play in a curtain-raiser to one of the British matches in Auckland antl inviting a third grade team to visit Ngaruawahia on June 27, was deferred. As the result of Devonport fifth grade and Mount Albert third grade teams demanding admittance to Carlaw Park on Saturday, it was emphasised as being against constitutional policy to allow teams which defaulted fixtures on other grounds to go through the players' gate at the park. In the case of Devonport it was pointed out that its default upset the programme at Papakura. A protest by the Ma list Club against the reversal of a third grade match to Newton on the ground that the latter team played two players out of order was deferred for further evidence. A protest and a counter-protest by City and Richmond sevenths on the ground that players were over age were not completed. Challenged on the score of weight by Marists, who did not go on with the case, two Point Chevalier seventh grade players who appeared were ' allowed 1/ «acn travelling expenses. R.V. challenged the weight of the whota of Ellerslie third grade team. Twelve players made the weight and the matter was held'over pending the weighing of the thirteenth player, about whom the club delegate also gave assurance of iiis eligibility. Acting on the recommendation of the Control Board, the awarding of the recent senior B match to Papakura, on the ground of a breach of the regrading ruie by Waiuku, was reopened. After full consideration it was felt that any alteration of the decision would be inadvisable as a precedent. Tt was deeided to award Mr. H. Walnisley's new miniature shield to the team winning most championship points in the seventh grade second round. On the suggestion of Mr. I. Stonex, it was resolved to suggest the heightening of the goalposts on No. 2 ground at Carlaw Park.
