GUARANTEED prices plan. COOK ISLANDS DELEGATIONS 'j —— ? (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Witnesses in the Cook. Islands fruit trade petitions before a Parliamentary committee arrived by the Maunganui from Rarotonga to-day. They are Mr. Robert McKegg, managing director ;of the Cook Islands Trading Company, representating Rarotongan trading firnjs, Makea Nui, Tinirau ■ Ariki, 0.8. E. and Tuairie Nic Kolas, representing tho petitioners /for guaranteed minimum prices, Mr. Wj Mcßirney and Mr. Alex Napa, petitioners for a control board, Mr. E. A. Reid, representing the Rarotonga Fruit Company, and Mr, Strickland, representing tlTe Cook Islands Native Association. These witnesses are accompanied by the Resident Commissioner for the Cook Islands, Judge H. F. Ay son, and the Director of Agriculture, Mr. W. T. Goodwin. The objects are the formation of a fruit board, guaranteed prices and the discussion of other matters affecting the fruit trade. It is proposed that when time permits a representative committee should proceed to Rar.otonga to see existing conditions, and any additional representations that it is not possible to make in Wellington may be made to the committee.
