WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to tlie "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton: — Moderate easterly winds, backing to northerly. Weather fine and mild, but clouds increasing. Seas slight to moderate. The anti-cvclone covering New Zealand has intensified still further, but the centre is now east of the North Island and is falling in the South. An intense anti-cyclone covers Eastern Australia. A shallow depression isamoving across the Tasman Sea. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day: — Wind east, moderate; sea smooth; weather fine and clear; visibility good; barometer steady. Forecast for Dominion. For 24 hours from 0 a.m. this day: — The indications are for moderate easterlies, backing to north. There is a prospect of fair weather. The barometer has a falling tendency.. Seas smooth to moderate.
