MURDERER'S CRIME.
RETRACTED HIS CONFESSION. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 14. Aircraftsman Frederick Charles Field, aged 32, who was sentenced to death yesterday for smothering a woman in her own house at Clapham early in April, was found not guilty of a similar crime in October, 1931, when he was charged with strangling Nora Upchurch in Solio. He signed a confession which he later retracted.
