COMPANY AFFAIRS.
WOOLWORTHS (SYDNEY). INCREASE OF CAPITAL. An extraordinary general meeting of Woolworths, Ltd. "(Sydney), will be held on June 2 to consider proposals to increase the capital of the company to £2,000,000 and to capitalise £421,969 for a bonus issue of one share for every one held as at May 2G. The present authorised capital is £1,000.000, the paid capital being £596,909. in £75,000 preference and £421,989 ordinary. It was announced recently, that Wool worths (Sydney) had acquired the •business of Alfred Edments Proprietary, Ltd., Victoria. The company, which «as registered in 1924, has made previous bonus issues as follow:—June, 1931, 83,894 £1 ordinary shares fully- paid, one new share for every one held; August, 1934, -253,181 £1 ordinary shares fully paid, three new shares for every two held. TOOTH'S BREWERIES. SAME INTERIM DIVIDEND. Tooth and Co., Ltd., brewers, Sydney, bas declared an interim dividend at the rate of 10 per cent per annum, unchanged.
