KING'S MESSAGES.
METHOD OF NOTIFICATION. ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. It does not seem to be generally known in \ew Zealand that in cases in which the King lias knowledge of the pending anniversary of diamond weddings or the attainment of 100 th birthdays of any of Ills people throughout the various parts of the Empire, His Majesty sends a message of congratulation to those concerned. In Xew Zealand the correct, procedure is for a relative or friend of the person or persons concerned to write to his Excellency the Governor-General at least seven days beforehand giving particulars of the coining event, and expressing a wish that His Majesty might bo graciously pleased to send a message on the occasion.
