| WITHDRAWAL OF PETITION. I (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.^ WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The New Zealand Railway Institute, through its president, recently petitioned Parliament requesting the Government to set up a tribunal for the investigation of claims in the first division of tho railway service for improved working conditions and salaries. The passing of the Railway Bill, with provision for such a body giving representation both to employees and to the Department, has apparently satisfied railway officers, who have withdrawn their petition from the Railways Committee. '
