WAIKATO SHOW.

INTEREST QUICKENING. RECORD CROWDS EXPECTED. (I*roni Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. With less than a fortnight to go before the opening of the Waikato Wittier Show, interest in the fixture i.s quickening and the representatives of nianv outside commercial firms are already in town making arrangements for their exhibits. Mr. W. IT. Paul, the energetic show secretary, who has built tip a Dominion-wide reputation by his unique publicity methods, believes that the attendances during the eight days on which the show will be open this year will reveal another record. Judging by the correspondence which the committee .receives from other countries, the exhibition i.s rapidly attaining an international reputation. One of the characteristics of the show is that, while there arc many classes of particular interest to certain sectionn of the community, such as fanners, poultrykeepers, amateur engineers and housewives, there are also very many features with a wide general appeal. Among these is the amusement section, the space lor which has J been greatlyenlarged this year. Among, the many exhibits which will be staged in the model engineering section will be a scale model, perfect in every detail, of one of the Railway Department's engines of the W.A.B. type. The model was made by Mr. G. Donaldson, of Thames,' and occupied three years of his spare time. Model aeroplanes arc another attraction which, flown from a dais in the spacious Bledisloe Hall, were watched by hundreds from the galleries at last' year's show. No pains arc being spared this year to make the amusement section tho best ever organised. Among the sideshow entertainments there will be a big wheel, a fleet of power boats, merry-go-round, a troupe of Hawaiian singers, trapeze .artists and contortionists, a team of skaters who are coining especially from Sydney, and a troupe of physical culture* experts. Large entries have been received for the musical, elocutionary and dancing competitions, which in the past have drawn competitors from all parts of the North Island. Highland dancing will be I staged in the Bledisloe Hall, and there ! will be a continuous programme daily i from' morning till night.
