WHITE BUTTERFLY PEST.
NEARLY 50,000 DESTROYED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DARGAVILLE, this day. During the last summer season the Tangowahine-Avoea Women's Institute inaugurated a local schools white butterfly catching campaign. The results disclose that 49,87 V butterflies were destroyed. ■ The winners of prizes werc:c Mary .Millstead (Tangowahino), 11,594; Merle Daniels (Avoca), 10,247; Audrey JtcIn tosh, 9911. A report is being sent to the Minister of Agriculture, with a request that some parasites be obtained from the Cawthron Institute and liberated in the district.
