BOXING.

TO-NIGHT'S AUCKLAND BOUT. Seldom has the Auckland sporting public been offered a more attractive and promising professional contest than that which will be staged at the Town Hall this evening between Keg Hickey, the well-performed Australian middle-weight, and Kid Fisher, of England, promises to be. Included in Hickey's long list of successes is a draw with Tod Morgan, the former world's champion, and a host of knock-out and points decisions over some of the best welter-weight and middleweight boxers in Australia, a record which has earned him the respect of'the boxing public and his opponents alike, and which has made him one of the most popular fighters in his home country. Fisher, who, like Hickey, will be making his first appearance in the Auckland ring, has brought from England an enviable record and he should prove to be a worthy opponent for the Australian. The best middle-weight fight for years appears certain, and is supported by a first-class programme of amateur contests. BAY OF PLENTY TOURNEY.
