WEATHER FORECAST.

FOR CITY ANl> PROVINCE.

The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawliia and Hamilton:—

South-westerly to southerly winds of gale to strong gale force, but decreasing gradually to-morrow. Weather cold and very bnsterous, with p.i»°mg showers and in places hail and possibly thunder. Seas high." The last of the present series of westerly depressions .is now passing. This morning pressure was extremely low over New Zealand everywhere, but it is now vising rapidly in the South. An anti-cyclone is advancing across the Tasman Sew and is ( probably still intense. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at nofm to-day:— Wind, west-sou'-west, gale; sea, very rough; weather, thick, with heavy rain squalls; visibility poor; barometer low, but steady. Forecast for Dominion. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for southerly winds with heavy gale force, but decreasing to-morrow. The weather will probably prove very boisterous. Heavy showers with hail and sleet at times. The weather will probably become very cold, but improving to-morrow. Barometer rising fast. Seas high. J
