VITAL STATISTICS.
AN ALL-ROUND INCREASE
ESPECIALLY IN MARRIAGES
An outstanding increase in tha number of marriages for the fust four months of this year in comparison witij the corresponding period of 1935, and au increase in births and ate noticeable features in the vital statistics for the first four months of 1936. There have been 920 marriages so far this year, an increase of 157 on last year a total. The registrar has performed 191 of this year's marriages. There were 247 marriages during last month, including 43 performed by the registrar. A total of 911 births was registered for the first four months of this year, 99 of these being in April. The figures for the same period last year were 822 and 190 respectively. Deaths have also increased, the increase for the first four months of 1936 being 24. There were 156 deaths last month.
