BOXING.
PLUTO IN TRAINING. One of the largest crowds to ever witness a training exhibition by a professional boxer in Auckland crowded out the Fire Brigade's gymnasium in Pitt Street on Tuesday evening, when Cyril Pluto did a workout in preparation for his bout with Neville Mudgway on Monday evening next. Mr. Rugg, president of the Auckland Boxing Association, introduced Cyril Pluto and Reg Hickey. These boxers commenced with two three-minute rounds of skipping, and then Pluto had five hard three-minute rounds with Hickey and Lance Painter as sparring partners. Two three minutes of exercises completed the exhibition, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd. This will be repeated tonight.
