Mr. A. G. Limn left for the South last night by the Limited express. Sir Benjamin Fuller returned to Sydney to-day by the Monowai. Mr. Harvey Turner returned to Auckland yesterday by train from Wellington. Mr. H. B. Lusk has been re-elected president of the Hawke's Bay District Law Society. Mr. A. H. Gaze manager for the British Phosphate Commission, returned to Australia to-day by the Monowai. Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, was a passenger for Wellington by train yesterday afternoon. Mr. R. H. Nesbitt, Australian Trade Commissioner, and Mrs. Nesbitt, left on a visit to Australia to-day by the Monowai. Mr. A. Grayson, president of the Automobile Association (Auckland), returned to Auckland yesterday after a visit to the South. Mr. J. Muggeridge, Government entomologist at the Plant Research Station at Palmerston North, left for the South by last night's Limited express. Mr. Samuel Ritchie has been appointed a conciliation commissioner for a period of six months, according to an announcement in the Gazette last night.—Press Association. Sir James Gunson, acting-chairman of the Railways Board, left for Wellington by yesterday afternoon's express on business connected with the winding up of the board. Mr. C. J. B. Norwood, who was injured in a motor accident at Christchurch on Monday, is expected to leave the Lewisham Hospital within a week. He will proceed to Wellington. Mr. A. T. Pycroft, president of the Auckland Institute and Museum, accompanied by Mrs. Pycroft and their son, left by the Monowai to-day for Sydney on the first stage of a visit to England. Mr. J. G. Dunstan, of the Dunedin branch of the Liverpool and London and Globe Insurance Company, Ltd., has been appointed to the position of resident inspector for the companv at InvercargiH. Sir William and LAdy Marshall, of London, who have been visiting Rotorua, returned to Auckland yesterday and will leave for Los Angeles to-morrow by the Monterey. They are staying at Hotel Cargen. Mr. C. G. McKay, Secretary of Native Affairs, Apia, Samoa, who, accompanied by his wife, has been on four months' furlough in New Zealand, left last week by the Maui Pomare on his return to Samoa. Mr. J. E. Manchester, captain of the All Blacks football team on the recent, tour of Great Britain, will arrive at Wellington to-morrow by the Wanganella. He remained in England on business after the departure of the team. Professor A. B. Fitt, professor of education at Auckland University College, and Mr. D. M. Rae, principal of the Auckland Training College, left by train last evening for Wellington to attend a meeting of the New Zealand Council of Educational Research.
