AUCKLAND CONTROL BOARD.
EXTENSIVE REP. SEASON TO FLAN. „ At a meeting of the Board of Control of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, Mr. G. Grey Campbell presiding, communications were reported from the Wellington, Hawke's Bay and Northland Leagues with regard to early representative matches.
The chairman pointed out that these applications, together with one from the Central Club at Wellington (which still required to come through the Wellington management), could be considered when the Auckland League was in a position to arrange its fixtures for the season, which was likely to be a very heavy one owing to the visit of the British team. It was yet too early to arrange the local programme.
A number of club reports being in | hand, Mr. Campbell said that these and those published reflected a successful past season and confidence for this year. The chairman added that all clubs were required -to submit annual reports. The schools' and junior managements were complimented upon their reports, items of which were being incorporated in the board's report. The request of the schools' committee to send a team south, and from the junior management committee on transfer fees, were referred to the incoming management of the Auckland League. It was announced that as the result of the senior club vote Messrs. J. W. Probert and J. Rukutai were re-elected unopposed as club representatives. Mr. Campbell also congratulated the junior board on the return of the entire committee. A number of administrative recommendations were referred either for approval of the annual general meeting on April 6 or of the new committee to be elected thereat. The schools' committee's new constitution was referred back for suggested amendment and reconsideration. Delegates were present from the association affected. Id was decided to send on to the New Zealand Council a letter from a country centre seeking certain information and direction for the starting of the code in the district. Commenting on the many improvements carried out at Carlaw Park during the recess, the chairman said the ground, where work was still in progress, would be in splendid order, as to play aud facilities, for the new season. Devonport United were granted permission to meet Pukemiro (South Auckland) teams, senior and junior, at North Shore on April 18, the opening day, when the other senior teams will play a special round of matches at Carlaw Park. A number of senior and junior 'clubs have altered their field uniforms following last year's official suggestion, and the colours' committee's report was appreciatively adopted. ... Arising from an unusually large batch of player registrations and the fact that in two cases a new player had signed up with two clubs, the chairman ruled that the first form registered would be recognised by the management, according to Members expressed pleasure at the healthy financial position disclosed by the report of the hon. treasurer, Mr. J. L. Knowling.
