DAMAGED TANKER.
TRANSFERRING OIL CARGO. (Received 10 a.m.) BRISBANE, this day. The work of transferring the oil cargo from the damaged Norwegian tanker Vardaas, from Singapore, to the tanker Scalaria by means of connecting pipes is proceeding satisfactorily. Examination of the hull of the Vardaas revealed that extensive damage was caused when she was battered on a Queensland reef in a recent gale.
