TO-DAY IN CHRISTCHURCH. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. It was expected that after the long . week-end'break sales would be few on the local Exchange, but another factor influencing this morning's business was the readjustment- of values which is taking place after last week's sudden drop in prices. Actually some stronger buying offers came forward for such issues as Broken Hill, Coles and Lyells, while the banking section seemed better in several positions. Commercials held above £1, but New South Wales dropped by 4/, compared with/Saturday. Commercial, of Sydney and Nationals of New Zealand seemed firmer. Buyers and sellers were wide apart for pastoral shares, breweries aiul some miscellaneous issues. In mining Lyells recovered to £1 3/6 after reported business at £1 2/11, and the market closed £1 3/5 to £1 3/7. Disappointment with Woolworths (Sydney) balance-sheet in that no capital distribution was announced, resulted in an easing of quotations on 'Change, sellers • offering at £6 14/ and buyers at £6 6/.
