PEOPLE AND PLACES.
From the arrival of the Maoris some 500 years ago to these modern 'times New Zealand's cavalcade is a colourful pageant of progress. There are many famous people and many famous places in this pageant: soldiers, sailors, missionaries, warriors, pioneer colonists, adventurers, and many more, and the places with which they were associated. A record of. these people ar.d places has been combined by the Dominion Tobacco Company with the commercialising of a new brand of pipe tobacco. A series of 50 illustrated cards, with descriptions by Mr. James Cowan, i New Zealand historian, has been prepared for issue with the nsw tobacco.
