OTAHUHU CLUB.

M. MEARS LADY CHAMPION. THRILLING CYCLE FINISH. Last evening's meeting of the Otahuhu Amateur Athletic Club held at Sturgess Park was a most successful one. The attendance was exceptionally good and keen contests and close finishes were well In evidence throughout the whole of the programme. The high standard of control by tho club officials was a feature of the meeting. In the three-mile A grade cycle race Allen and Riddell, tho two back-markers, gave one of the best exhibitions of riding and finishing seen at Sturgess Park for some considerable time. Coming into the straight, both riders were locked together anil in a great sprint Allen got the verdict by a narrow margin. Glendlnning, from scratch, won the three-mile B grade cycle in good style, riding with judgment to get the decision. The track was in perfect order and the riding of tho boys in all the wheel events was first rate. Two club championships were decided. Miss Margaret Mears won the ladies' 100 yards sprint from Mrs. Moore, her linishing run being the stronger, to enable her to break the tape with a few inches lead. Thornton gained the decision comfortably in the 220 yards junior championship. Features of the boys' events were the wins of Leslie Deas in the 440 yardß junior boys and Allan Box, who won the senior boys' 440 yards in convincing style.
