A cricket match nas been arranged between the R.S.A. and Point Chevalier ex-servicemen, to be played at Walker Park (Point Chevalier) at one o'clock on Anniversary Day. , ' FRIENDLY SOCIETIES. HIBERNIANS' RECOVERY. Some high scoring featured the commencement of the second round ol' matches controlled by the United Friendly Societies at Kemuera on Saturday. In the game on No. - wicket, the Hibernians totalled 23 (included six "ducks") in reply to Grey Lynn's 130. Facing almost certain defeat, the Hibernians followed on, but the batsmen punished the bowling to such an extent that in the hour they compiled 124 runs for tour wickets. Ellis, a brilliant all-rounder, made 53, which included nine fours, and Belcher made a breezy 49, which included two sixes and five fours. Both batsmen bad a stay of only forty minutes. Eden-Auckland. — Devouport 107 and none for 13, beat BdeuAuckland 30 and 73, by ten wickets. Hibernians v. Grey Lynn Druids. —Grey Lynn 130, bent Hibernians 23 (C. Taylor six for 7. (Skinner four for 11), 124 for four (Ellis 53, Belcher 49), by 113 runs on tiie first Innings. Manchester Unity v. Foresters.—Foresters, 170 for nine (declared) (L. Cliffe od). beat Manchester 74 (A. Hoverd five for 11, L. Cliffe four for 24), and 40 for three. Foresters wou by 90 runs on first Innings.
