TWO USEFUL TIPS.

TWINE-HOLDERS. A tin that has a movable top can be turned bottom up and a hole pierced in the centre. Draw the end of a ball of twine through this, leave the twine in can, replace lid firmly, and paste on neatly a pretty piece of cretonne or fancy wallpaper. The holder is ornamental as well as useful. ORANGE MINT. Prepare a syrup by boiling together one cupful of sugar and one cupful of water till well dissolved. Set the syrup aside until cold, then pour it over the strained juice of six oranges, and to this add six drops of essence of cloves. For each drink put two tablespoonfuls to a cupful and fill with hot water. Sprigs of mint added improve the flavour.
