INCREASE IN STAKE.
At a meeting of the committee of the Ashburton Trotting Club, held on Monday evening, it was decided to. increase the stake for the New Zealand Sapling Stakes, 1937, by £100, bringing it to £1100. JNo increase will be made in forfeits or payments, and the date for the second forfeit will be later in order to assist owners. It was also decided that the stake ioi the New Zealand Futurity Stakes, 1939, be £1100, the same as that allotted to the 1938 event.
