LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
TRIALISTS FOR AUSTRALIA. The English Rugby League teams for the first trial for the Australian tour at Leeds on January 15, were captained respectively by Sullivan and Silcock, and included Atkinson, Risman, Edwards, Woods, Fender and Brogden, who were members of previous touring teams, states a special cable to Australian papers. Mor-lt-y, a member of the Rugby Union side in Australia in 1930, is also included. Cumberbatch, BrougTiton Rangers winger and a coloured player, though English-born, is the cause of speculation as to the Australian reaction if he is chosen for the tour. The "Yorkshire Observer" describes him as the only candidate comparable to the Ellaby of four years ago. v > The secretary of the Australian Board of Control, Mr. H.. R. Miller, said, in reply to the Cumberbatch question, that there could be no objection to any player based on his colour.
