BOUGHAL AND SINKING FUND. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") HAMILTON", Thursday. L'Allegro outpointed Folly's Choice over seven furlongs in 1.36. The former is engaged in the High-weight Handicap on Saturday, and possesses good prospects. Full of Scotch was going comfortably in front of Polly Douglas at the completion of six furlongs on the course proper in 1.21 4-5, the first three in -395, and the first half-mile in 535. It was a promising trial on the part of Full of Scotch. Orac, assisted by the Hunting Song three-year-old, was clocked to reach the five-furlong post in 1.716, the first three in 395, and the half-mile in 545. Dark Shadow was an absentee from the tracks, and is suffering from a cold, which has necessitated a check in his preparation. Boughal hit out freely over six furlongs in 1.19 1-5, time on which he could have improved. He ran his first "three furlongs in 38s, half-mile in 52. 2tss„. -and five. furlongs in 1.6. Boughal has never looked better. Star Artist, unaccompanied, ran six furlongs in 1 19, and pleased by the manner in which : she revelled in her task. There was little between Light Comedy and Whirling at the end of six furlongs in 1.20. Both ; shaped well. On No. 1 grass Sinking Fund was in front of Gloucester" at the com- ; pletion of five furlongs in 1.5 1-5, the first three in 38%5, and four in 51 l-ss. Sinking Fund, who had a substantial pull in the weights, was always travelling smoothly, and will probably be taken up for the second day of the Takapuna meeting. Gloucester is bearing a healthy appear- i ance. Lion Heart, who was sent along 1 on the No. 1 grass, was timed to run I half a mile in 535, the first three furlongs taking 395.
