r MRS. R. HILL-JOHNSON. 1 2 a To bid farewell to Mrs. Hill-Johnson, r who is leaving Helensville to reside at Takapuna, the members of the Mothers' . Union and Ladies' Guild and friends met j in the Parish Hall on Tuesday afternoon. Out of respect to His late Majesty all stood in silenCe for two minutes. On arrival the guest of honour, who i was dressed in a, iloral crepe de chine, ■ with black hat relieved with white, was ■ presented with a lovely bouquet of flowers by Mrs. Watson, one of the : oldest members of the guild. A musical programme, consisting of songs by Mesdames Sandin,. H. Wilson (Hamilton), Pavish, and Miss Asquith (Auckland) was very much enjoyed; a. duet by Mesdames Sandin and Wilson was tunefully rendered, and a little community singing was indulged in by all. A come petition (streets of Auckland) was won rby Mesdames Beagle and Sellars. A e delicioui! afternoon tea was served by " the members of, the Guild and Mothers' ! " Union.
