Japanese Order Cession of Territory. PEKING STUDENTS RIOT. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, December 17. "The Times" Peking correspondent says it is reported from Kalgan that the Japanese have sent a Note to the Chaliar authorities demanding virtual cession of six border districts, including Ku-yuan, Pao-cliang and Chian-y-pei, to Manchukuo. Japanese troops have occupied most of the districts of Ku-yuan and Paocliang. Tlio Peking correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says Japanese military .reinforcements are, expected as the result of a student demonstration yesterday. The disturbance occurred during the first meeting of the Hopei-Cliahar political council. Yelling "Down with the Japanese," antl carrying banners bearing anti-Japanese slogans, the students traversed the city scattering leaflets reading: "Traitors hold our country. Rise and overthrow the Japanese Imperialists."

The students stoned the police and firemen who had been ordered to disperse them. One girl is reported to have died from a bayonet wound in the neck. It was the biggest student antiJapanes© demonstration in the history of Peking.

The Japanese have warned the Chinese authorities that if they are unable to keep order, the Japanese must do so.
