NORTH SHORE CARNIVAL CRUMP BEATS FRANKHAM. MOUNT EDEN WINS RELAY AGAIN. 'Tliere was a capital attendance at the Tepid Baths last night for the first of the North- Shore Amateur Swimming and Life-Siiving Club's- carnivals; among the competitors being Edna Rainey (now of Hastings), who won the New Zealand sprint championship last February when living at Devonport.

Those two "friendly enemies," Noel Crump' and Bob Frankham (both former Dominion champions), staged another of their dramatic finishes, when the former got the verdict in the 50 yards A grade final.

The first race for the Tommy Lowe Memorial Shield, the 300 yards inter-club relay championship, was won comfortably by Mount Eden, North Shore being second and Ponsonby third. The 50 -yards men's championship of the North Shore Club was retained by Crump in 25 2-ss, and the ladies' championship was won by Jean Finlayson, whose time was 30 4-ss.
