STUDENTS' RECITAL.

VOCAL AND INSTRUMENTAL.

The Lewis Eady Hall was well filled last evening when Miss Thoo Ilalpin and Mr. Robert Simmers with their pupils, assisted by Miss Wynne James, presented a varied programme of instrumental and vocal items interspersed with humorous recitals. (Frank Bridge) atfd "The Roadside Fire" (Vauglian Williams); Jean Menzies, vocal solo. "A Birthday" (MacFadyen); Madge Taylor and Robert Simmers, vocal duet. "Kingfisher Blue" (Amy Woodford Finden). Miss Wynne James contributed a humorous recital. "The Burglar." the humorous sketch "Buying Shoes" and several recall items. Both the piano and vocal work showed distinct evidences of careful tuition, correct use of the pedal and clean execution were noticeable features of the playing, and the singing was marked iby clarity of diction.
