HENDERSON TOWN BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Henderson Town Board was held last night, the chairman, Mr. H. -Norcross, presiding. The foreman reported on the footpath improvements scheme, stating that a large amount of the work had been completed. Favourable comment was made 011 tee way the work had been carried out and of the improved general appearance of the township. The inspector reported that all notice* regarding noxious, weeds had been complied with and that the Town Board at :a was now "clean." Tenders for work 011 the sanitation ground were submitted and that of Mr. Llewell accepted. Expenditure was authorised for the purchase of further equipment for the sanitation service. Correspondence was received from the medical officer of health regarding the mosquito pest. As the board has in view the annual clean-up week it was agreed that effect should be given to the medical officers' requests. It was decided to hold the clean-up week early in December on the same lines as previously and the c-iei k was instructed to call tenders for carrying out the work? The picture committee reported that io had decided to show pictures 011 elecuou day night, and that special apparatus was being installed for receiving results, which were to be. shown on the screen. The board agreed to make application to the Minister of Finance for the special subsidy of V2',i per cent on urban farm land rates. A donation of one guinea was made to the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association.
