HOSPITAL AT WHANGAREI.

SALE OF FARM PROPOSED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, Tuesday. Rough plans for the building of a new women's ward at the Whangarei District Hotalfcfci were submitted to a meeting of the TtryafS yesterday. After viewing the plans and the site, the board decided to refer the plans to the Health Department's building expert for criticism. Dealing with the matter of finance, the chairman, Mr. J. A. S. MacKay, said that if the greater part of any expenditure was carried out at one time it would be possible to get much better terms. He had made inquiries, he said, and it was possible to obtain money at 3£ per cent. The question of the disposal of the Kamo farm was also discussed. Mr. J. N, McCarroll said that when the farm was obtained there was some difficulty in obtaining satisfactory milk supplies, but that difficulty did'not now exist, and he thought it would be cheaper to obtain supplies in the open market. If the property was sold and the money put into new buildings it would be a saving to the ratepayers. It was decided that the board consider advertising the property for sale and the farm committee was appointed to make terms and conditions."
