MT. EDEN BAND RECITAL.

Seldom have music-lovers in Auckland been treated to such a high-class performance by juvenile bandsmen as that which was given by the Mount Eden Boys' Band at the Astor Theatre in commemoration of the Armistice. The Mayor of Mount Eden, Mr. T. McNab, presided, and congratulated the conductor, Mr. F. 11. Hildreth, on the quality of the music, mentioning in particular the playing of the hymn "Deep Harmony." A stirring address on Armistice Day was given by Rev. C. W. Duncomb on the subject of Armistice Day. Items were provided by Misses Doris Bransgrove and Aldwyth Dunn, and Messrs. A. Gibbons, Taylor and Len. Barnes. The accompanist was Mrs. H. Dunn. Mr. A. P. Hartnoll, president of the band, thanked all who had assisted. Among the official visitors were Mr. J. W. Kendall, president of the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association, Mr. L. A. Tozer, president of the Mount Eden and Mount Roskill branch of the U.S.A.
