WRESTLING.
NEXT SATURDAY'S CONTEST. ' GOOD OPPONENT FOR WALKER. According to Press reports a strong, fast, vigorous and spectacular wrestler, Tony La Maro, with George Walker as his opponent, will provide the main event on the Dominion Sporting Club's programme at the Town Hall next Saturday evening. Much has been written of La Maro's past performances, and in making his first New Zealand appearance on Saturday he will only have to partly produce his best form to prove something of a sensation. Consequently Walker, keen to demonstrate that he is still the king-pin wrestler in New Zealand, will have to produce his best form to win. Occasionally in the past few years Walker has lost a decision, as qn Saturday, but never has he been twice beaten in succession, and if La Maro can turn the trick he will provide a sensation, not only in Auckland but throughout New Zealand. Many fans are keen to see Walker beaten, as is common with most athletes who have carved out a successful career, but his many enthusiastic supporters are confident that he has the beating of any wrestler at present in New Zealand. His recent matches have had a very beneficial effect, and he is now rapidly approaching his best condition, and this, coupled with the fact that he is determined to prove to Aucklanders that he is as good as ever, and that he is capable of producing that form which caused the defeat of many stars who visited this country, will make a severe test on the calibre of the newcomer. The contest looks good, and should prove a decided attraction. TOURNEY AT MANUREWA. Results of a wrestling tournament held at Manurewa last night, -frith Mr. W.
