A SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE. BIG RISE INT GOLD EXPORTS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) SUVA, October 28. The returns of the trade for the colony show a very marked improvement, revealing a £558,384 increase for the nine months ended September 30. Imports totalled £911,505, as against £703,706 for the same period last year, and exports £1,271,636, as against £921,351. Details of exports, with last year's figures in parentheses, are as follow: Sugar, 91,085 tons, valued at £903,787 (60,072 and £624,580); copra, 20,589 tons valued at £172,441 (19,392 and £104,446); bananas, 8383 bunches and 105,468 cases, vattied at £44,974 (667 bunches and 120,387 cases and £46,379); molasses, 10,52\ tons (9435 tons); gold, bullion, 3985 ounces, valued at £31,150 (911 ounces and £6677); trocas shell, 239 tons valued at £16,090 (295 tone and £19,121); other exports, £92,673 ( £110,713).
