AIRMAN GREETED.
MR. O'UABA, OLD THAMES BOY. An enthusiastic reception was given to Mr. W. M. O'Hara, who recently flew the Tasman, at the final gathering this year of the Old Thames Boys' Association. In proposing the toast of "The Pioneers," reference was made by Mr. Thomas Scott to the residence at Thames of the parents of Mr. O'Hara, who lately had made "old Kopu and Waralioe seem important places." Musical honours were accorded Mr. O'Hara, who gave interesting details of his machine and an account of the trip across the Tasman and his arrival at the Mangere Aerodrome. There was a large attendance, presided over by Mr. J. H. Reed. An enjoyable programme included songs by Messrs. Meldrum, Frank Cornwall, Joe Smithson, Tom Cooper, James McMinn, S. Kindly and James Lonergan; tumorous sketches by Messrs. Bert Watson and Jack de Rose (the All Blacks); comic songs by Messrs. Arthur Austin, T. Holthouse, William Fawshaw; and imitations by Mr. Lou Bickerton. The accompaniments were played by Mr. W. Purcell. 1
